That's where a multichannel signal acquisition unit comes in. It takes the analog outputs from your sensors, conditions them, and digitizes everything in one box. Kingmach builds these units for real field conditions: hot, humid, electrically noisy. The idea is simple: less cabling, fewer boxes, and data streams you can trust for years. When you're tracking settlement on a railway embankment or convergence in a mine tunnel, you want the readings from all channels to be time-aligned without hassle. Technical Detail
Kingmach has been making geotechnical instruments long enough to know that field monitoring hardware needs to survive dusty, wet, and vibration-heavy environments. The multichannel signal acquisition unit is a compact, DIN-rail mountable device that collects data from up to 32 sensors (depending on model). It supports common geotechnical sensor interfaces: vibrating wire, 4–20 mA, and strain gauge bridges. The analog front-end is designed to reject 50/60 Hz noise—common near power lines and heavy machinery—without sacrificing resolution. The unit can sample all channels simultaneously, not sequentially. This matters when you're trying to correlate dynamic events like rockfall impacts or pile driving vibrations. Data is timestamped with GPS-synchronized precision so you can compare readings across multiple acquisition nodes on a site. Typical applications include bridge health monitoring, retaining wall displacement tracking, and deep excavation instrumentation. For projects that require long-term unattended operation, the unit draws less than 5 watts and can be solar powered. Data from the unit can be pushed over RS-485, Ethernet, or 4G cellular (via optional module) to a local logger or directly to cloud-based monitoring platforms. Because Kingmach handles design, manufacturing, and calibration in-house, custom sensor configurations or special communication protocols are handled quickly—no endless back-and-forth with subcontractors. Yes. Most of our multichannel units are modular. You can daisy-chain additional acquisition boxes or order units with more channels upfront. Since we manufacture in-house, we can also build a custom channel count if the off-the-shelf options don't fit.
It works with vibrating wire sensors, electrical strain gauges (full/half/quarter bridge), 4–20 mA transmitters, and potentiometers. If you have a sensor with a non-standard output, we can usually modify the input conditioning on request.
The unit speaks Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP. That means it's straightforward to poll from most industrial gateways, PLCs, or SCADA systems. We also offer a companion cloud platform if you prefer a turnkey solution.
It can run on 10–30 V DC, which is typical for solar-battery systems. The low power consumption (under 5 W) means a 50-watt solar panel and a small deep-cycle battery can keep it running in most climates.
The electronics are rated for -20°C to +60°C operation. The enclosure is IP65 when closed. In extremely cold conditions, we recommend adding a small heater inside the enclosure, which is already prepared for that.
